Based in Texas, Wade Lyons is a seasoned leader in law enforcement, public safety training, and private security. For nearly two decades, he served with the Austin Police Department, holding key roles in operations, intelligence, narcotics, and risk management before advancing to Training Academy Commander. In this role, he set the strategic vision for officer development, hiring, and training for one of the largest municipal departments in Texas. In 2024, Wade transitioned to the private sector, founding Black Onyx Investigations, LLC, a firm focused on background investigations, security consulting, and executive protection. An advocate for leadership and lifelong education, Wade is affiliated with professional organizations including IACP, NOBLE, and ICMA. His background in policing, combined with expertise in Lean Six Sigma and advanced executive training, allows him to design forward-thinking security solutions that balance innovation, professionalism, and community safety.
